Our plant employs a series of sophisticated physical separation processes , driven by key equipment and technology:
- Crushing & Screening: Primary , Secondary/Tertiary Crushing (Jaw, Gyratory, Cone Crushers ) reduce ROM ore size. Vibrating Screens classify material by size.
- Scrubbing/Washing: Rotary Scrubbers or Trommels break down clay, liberating chrome particles.
- Dense Medium Separation (DMS) / Heavy Media Separation (HMS): This is a highly efficient stage separating minerals based on density differences , with chrome ore being denser than most gangue minerals. Equipment includes DMS cyclones or drums.
- Jigging: Mineral Jigs utilize pulsated water to stratify particles based on density and size , effective for coarse to fine chrome particles.
- Spirals: These gravity concentration devices are excellent for fine chrome particles, separating them based on density, size, and shape.
- Magnetic Separation: Can be used to remove strong magnetic impurities or clean the ferrosilicon medium in DMS. Equipment includes Drum magnets, wet high-intensity magnetic separators (WHIMS).
- Dewatering & Drying: Thickeners , Dewatering Screens , Centrifuges , and Filters remove water. Optional Rotary or Fluid Bed Dryers reduce final moisture content.
